Penuwch Fach Holiday Cottage in Wales is the original farmhouse on this 100 acre working beef and sheep farm which has been in the Owen family for the past 150 years. One of a pair, this traditional Welsh farmhouse has been sympathetically restored and renovated to a high standard whilst also retaining its charm and character.

A spacious, well equipped farmhouse-style kitchen/dining room with a dual fuel Range cooker, red quarry tiles and original beams, leads through to the main living room.

The living room is full of character with traditional slate floor and exposed wood ceiling. It has been furnished with the original Welsh dresser and Grandfather clock together with two cosy sofas where you can relax in front of a wood-burning stove.

A second sitting room, ‘y palwr bach’, which translates to “the small parlour”, has an open fire and again is furnished with original antique furniture. Y palwr bach is an ideal room to escape to, put your feet up and read your favourite book.

First floor

There are two spacious double bedrooms, each with TV and en-suite shower room with toilet, a twin bedroom and a bunk bedroom. The main bathroom has a toilet and a double ended bath with shower attachment.

Outside

Ample parking is available at the rear of the house where a path leads you over the patio to an area with seating, a gas barbeque and a covered well.  A large, enclosed lawned area can be found to the front of the house, which offers far reaching views of the surrounding countryside.

Full central heating is included in the cost of your holiday, as is all electricity, towels and bed linen.  We also provide a travel cot and high chair.  Please feel free to contact us should you have any other requirements, and we will do our utmost to help make your visit with us as stress free as possible.

Penuwch Fach Experience

Penuwch Fach is a working farm, so during the year, and depending on the season, you may see sheep and cattle grazing in the fields.  Lambing time runs between mid March and the end of April, so, at this time of year there’s a good chance that you’ll see some new born lambs in the fields surrounding the cottage. All our cattle are housed over winter on our main farm some 12 miles away, but, from the beginning of May to mid November, some of the cattle will be kept on the farm at Penuwch Fach.

We are also able to offer stabling should you wish to bring your horse on holiday to explore the area, or attend a local event/competition.

For any visitors wishing to experience the local area on horseback, we can provide details of a local riding centre, which offers lessons and treks for all levels of experience.  We advise that you book these prior to your arrival to avoid any disappointment during your visit.
